| NeoTropico
Consultants is an organisation whose aim is
to encourage research and development of the
therapeutic and economic potential of South
American medicinal plants and their derivatives.
In order to reach this objective, NeoTropico
has establisher its Consultancy Service, allowing
our Organisation to offer scientific and technical
advice to the corporate and public sectors in
order to design, plan and co-ordinate activities
ranging from the identification of innovative
South American ethnobotanical leads for foods,
cosmetics, pesticides, medicines, and fibber
products, to the implementation of primary health
care projects using medicinal plants and phytomedicines
within local health care systems. Thus, the
activities of NeoTropico Consultants can be
divided in two large areas or fields: drug discovery
in medicinal plants, and herbal drugs.

| NeoTropico is managed by
its Founder and Chief Consultant, Cristian Desmarchelier,
and its Academic Director, Jorge Alonso. The
team is further assisted by Dr. Jorge Weil,
in charge of New Business Development. They
are assisted by a group of senior scientists
that act as external and temporary consultants
according to specific projects and needs.
